Finishes

The flooring in each container is made from the containers’ original plywood flooring. During the fabrication of each container, all the plywood had to be removed to install insulation and systems. Rather than discard it, the plywood was refurbished and re-installed and sealed with a water-based sealer.

The interior cladding is American hickory tongue-in-groove wood paneling, sustainably harvested in North Carolina.  Cabinetry was custom made in Raleigh by REdesign.build using plywood from Formology that uses a soy-based glue and contains no VOCs or polyurethane.
