It’s time to start thinking about your spring and summer gardens! Whether you’re an experienced gardener or a novice, there’s no time like the present to plant some veggies and flowers at home. And we’re here to help! At our spring plant sale, we’re offering a selection of seedlings of our favorite varieties of vegetable and flower crops, from heirloom tomatoes and peppers to rudbeckia and zinnias, all grown by our farm team from organic seed - no pesticides or chemicals.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from this plant sale will go to the Wake County Boys & Girls Clubs; specifically, to support the clubs’ after-school and summer camp meal programs. Last year, more than 75% of the youth enrolled in WCBGC programs qualified for free or reduced school lunch.
We’re offering two dates to “shop the sale” - Thursday, April 24th (3pm to 6pm) and Friday, April 25th (3pm to 6pm). Due to limited space, you must register to attend. In addition to some plant retail therapy, we’ll have snacks prepared by the teens enrolled in the Boys and Girls Clubs’ cooking classes, as well as a gardening advice booth from our network of experts, and an opportunity to tour the farm.
