Fresh herbs are one of the easiest and most delicious additions to your garden!
They add flavor to your food and have been used medicinally by cultures across the globe to promote health and nutrition. In the garden, many herbs double as food for pollinators and help promote a diverse biological ecosystem.
In this workshop, you’ll learn about gardening perennial and annual herbs with Jamie, our farm manager, and get some hands-on harvesting experience. Then join our program director, Kait, in our Container Barn for a cooking demonstration of easy techniques for incorporating herbs into your recipe repertoire. You’ll walk away with a full-proof technique for pesto, a bespoke dried herb blend, and the confidence to add herbs to drinks and dessert.
Herbs and plants we’ll cover include: rosemary, lavender, common sage, thyme, hyssop, oregano, lemon balm, lemon sorrel, bronze fennel, dill, parsley, basil, and cilantro.
