Calling all our craft lovers! Here’s a workshop that’s been months in the making! All summer long, our farm team diligently cut and dried flowers from the garden, and now we’re ready to put these preserved beauties to good use. In this workshop in our greenhouse, you’ll learn about the basics of flower-drying, and then learn how to create your own dried flower wreath to take home. (Hint hint - it’s a Valentine’s flower arrangement that won’t wilt!)
Surely all that creative work will build up an appetite: we’ll have a spread of brunch snacks (made with ingredients from the farm) and bottomless coffee to keep you sated.
Brunch menu:
Butternut squash coffee cake
Roasted tomato and collard quiche
Yogurt parfaits with honey-peanut granola and muscadine grape preserves
In lieu of a ticket fee, the price for entry is a $50 donation to the NC Wildlife Federation’s Butterfly Highway Project, which is a statewide conservation restoration initiative that aims to restore native pollinator habitats to areas impacted by urbanization, land use change, and agriculture across North Carolina. The Butterfly Highway is creating a network of native flowering plants to support butterflies, bees, birds and other pollen and nectar dependent wildlife.
